Personal thoughts- I really love Utena as a character, and wanted to cosplay her! I chose the movie duelist uniform, as the design i was really drawn to it’s design! It’s so elegant, bold, and pretty.
Construction details- Made a mock-up first to make it fit correctly, and indicated where i wanted the alternate color panels of black and white for the uniform. I did the same with the shorts. Red bias tape is stitched down along the seams. Epaulets are painted and then gold rope is glued to the edges. Wig was purchased from ebay, and it’s gorgeous, no styling required.
