Personal thoughts- I’ve cosplayed different characters over the years from Sailor Moon, and I kept coming back to wanting to cosplay as Sailor Moon herself. One of my cosplay dreams(I have many!) was to be apart of a full Sailor Moon group! I was able to organize cosplayers I admire, and cosplay friends, to come together for this group. We coordinated everything so we could match, and patterns were provided by Sparklepipsi !
Construction details- Since patterns were provided by Sparklepipsi, everything had been laid out. I did modify steps here and there, but overall I followed her instructions to ensure our group matched. Materials- Our group voted together to use a non-shiny fabric and chose poplin for the skirts, and collar. The rest is lycra.
Boots- The boots were bought then modified. I have pretty small calves and had a huge gap between the boot and my leg- so I had to run it through the machine and carefully take it in on the existing seam it had on the back. The white trim was done by my bf as I was cutting it close on time and need help! We used white pleather and he treated it like bias tap. He did a beautiful job!
Wig- I bought a pre-made Sailor Moon wig off of ebay. I took off the buns the wig had, and re-positioned the ponytails higher, and stubbed it. Again since I was short on time I used the pre-made bun which resembled a mop ie: it had no structure/support. So i carved styrofoam balls and shoved it into the ‘mop-bun’ and put it onto the stub of the wig.
