Character – Series- Babydoll – Sucker Punch

Personal thoughts-
After seeing the trailers from last year, I became very interested with this movie. The character designs for this movie are unbelievably alluring, and Babydoll’s outfit really spoke to me. I had pre-ordered the art of the film, and was able to get it a month before Wondercon, It provided great reference’s, and I set out to make it for the upcoming convention.  I don’t enjoy sewing much.. but with this costume I can say I thoroughly enjoyed constructing it, which is pretty rare for me!

Construction details- The skirt patterns were done by scratch, made a mock-up and went to the final skirt. The skirt’s buttonholes are functioning, and is how I get in and out of the skirt. The top was modified from a top pattern I had- made a mock-up and heavily altered the pattern. The center front closes with buttons, and has belt loops, to feed through the belt that was made with strips of vinyl. All of the white trims, and blue ribbon on the collar, cuffs, skirt were just top-stitched on. I also custom-dyed my collar fabric to be a bit older looking. Shoes were bought, altered, and painted.

Charms were sculpted with sculpey clay, and painted with acrylics. Gun was disassembled and painted silver.  Holsters and katana rope braid were made by my boyfriend.
